Prayer

He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!” (Mathew 21:13 NLT)

Prayer should be seen as the source of life in the local church. A praying church is a triumphant church.

(Prayer Adventure). Mathew 16:18 NLT- Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

The process of discipleship calls for travailing prayer (Galatians 4:19 NLT-   Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.), so does the process of becoming Christ like disciples who engage the world.

When Christ ascended to heaven, He left behind a prayer meeting. The early church didn’t have a prayer meeting: the early church was the prayer meeting (saturated with prayer) – Acts 2:42. In fact, in the early church, every Christian was a prayer- meeting Christian. (Armin Gesswein) .

As a result of this, we see a church characterized by power. What we cannot obtain by solitary prayer, we may obtain by corporate prayer because where our
individual strength fails, there union and concord are effectual- (Chrysostom 400AD).

When The church prays there is:

1. Brokenness, Repentance & Revival
2. Outpouring of the Holy Spirit
3. Signs and Wonders
4. Salvation
5. Harvest

Make Prayer a lifestyle. – (Philippians 4:6NLT) Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. The transcript of your prayers becomes the script of your life.
